In store test renders
Used a tutorial at http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uKaKlOb_ySQ which i found at Jorge Baldeons blog referred to me by my tutor. This was a quick tutorial which helped fake global illumination to light my scene. This was very helpful due to time constraints of the project and for quick efficiency. I still want to tweak the shadows a little bit but I am quite happy with the result so far.

11/03/2014 - Roof completed and Morrisons text added
Textured the roofs using a tiled roof texture i found online. I used the program crazy bump to help me create bump maps although I need to check over if they have been applied appropriately. Even if they have not I am still happy with how the texture looks as it looks pretty close to life. I used UVW map to adjust the textures and make them all fit. I still need to fix some of the textures on the side of the roof panels as the textures are squashed. This is not really noticeable but after spending so long on this it stands out to me and I would rather correct it.
I added the Morrisons text by adding a vector outline of the text to 3dmax. This was done by converting the font in Photoshop to an outline and then sending it to after effects. Once imported into 3dsmax it was really easy as I could just extrude the stencil and then apply the texture to it. I am happy with this as the building now has its identity to everyone who does not know that specific building.
There is still some texturing to do and also some modelling of the connecting buildings but the majority of the hard work here is done. I can now move on to focus on the other modelling needed in this project such as the in store isles.

Pretty much ready to add the roof now which I will work on tomorrow. After getting feedback from tutor the Friday just gone I am clear on how to easily do the Morrisons lettering to add on the front of the store. The brief included a logo pack with image files with the logo and font so i should be able to import that into 3dsmax and use as a stencil which i can then extrude. This will save a lot of time.

Roof support update
With the help of new reference pictures I was able to figure out the roof supporting structure. This took some time as i was not happy with the scale and angle of it. It is still far from perfect and without being able to measure it or visit it in person i will have to settle for what i feel is accurate. I can now hopefully construct the roof a lot easier.
